Afternoon Otters Class Now Available!

We are thrilled to announce the addition of our new Afternoon Otters class at Everett Cooperative Preschool! This exciting opportunity is perfect for little ones who are ready to take their first steps towards independence. Starting this fall, our PM Otters class will be held on Thursdays and Fridays from 12 PM to 2 PM.

About Our Otters Class

The Otters class is designed specifically for children ages 18 months to 3 years who are just beginning to experience the world without their parents by their side. We understand that every child is unique, and we want to support both parents and children during this transition. That’s why we offer the flexibility for parents to attend each class or to gradually work towards dropping their child off on days that are not their once-a-week workday.

In the Otters class, we focus on building a strong foundation of trust and security in the classroom. Our skilled teachers create a nurturing environment where children feel safe to explore, learn, and grow. We emphasize skill development in several key areas, including:

  • Familiarization with Schedules and Transitions: Children learn to navigate daily routines and transitions between activities, fostering a sense of predictability and comfort.

  • Increased Verbal Communication: Through interaction with peers and teachers, children are encouraged to express themselves and build their language skills.

  • Bodily Management: We promote self-guided play, where children learn to manage their bodies through a variety of activities, including music, art, sensory exploration, and pretend play.

This class is an excellent way to encourage your child’s independence while providing them with the tools they need to thrive in a group setting.
